ProWein 2017 - The Worlds no. 1

ProWein stays the best international wine fair in the world. This year I was more focused on tasting sauvignon blancs cause in Ptuj Slovenia will be on 20 May international wine festival Salon Sauvignon. And at ProWein I had a chance to taste sauvignon blancs from all over the world. New Zealand and Sancerre of course, but I was interested to taste something new – old new. Like for example the taste of sauvignon from Moldova, Israel, Romania, Uruguay, Brazil, ... and also organic sauvignons.

ProWein is polygon for discovering undiscovered too. Another hot spot for tasting was Mundus Vini tasting zone with a selection of some 500 prize-winning wines from all over the globe. I stop also at China stand “Changyu” and was interested to get to know more about lately wine production business in this huge country with 21.500 hectares of grape bases. Changyu possesses 11 chateaux in total and 3 of them are in France. Jap wine production is very serious business and so many great wines with great taste and stories and history wine producing! So it is really difficult to outstand!

Some statistic: 6.400 exhibitors from around 60 countries. Slovenia included! In general there were about 250 exhibitors with organic wines.
