What: 2nd Salon of Sparkling Wines

»I feel very good in Ljubljana. I like cities which offer quality space for work and many activities to spice up the life in the free time,« said Isaac, a visitor from New York, when I asked him how he found the Salon of Sparkling Wines. Moreover he said not only he is familiar with Slovenian wines, but also they are easy to drink and events like this are perfect for him. »In the same place I can meet a –winemaker and taste his wines – in this case sparkling.«

On Friday, 13th of February Grand Hotel Union gethered about 36 local and international producers of sparkling wines and over 450 visitors. Sparkling wines from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, France and Spain. Slovenian wines were representing all three Winelands and 8 out of 9 Wine districts. Organisers highlighted two novelties – 7 brands of French Champagnes and 3 Croatian wineries. »If the last year's first Salon did not attract many visitior, this year definitely is successful. Not only we counted 10 times more visitors, our expectations were trully exceeded – as organisers, as well as wineries and Grand Hotel Union who prepared amazing culinary offer, and visitors,« comented Rado Stojanovič, organiser. In continuation we were introduced to the season of over 20 wine and culinary events, called Magnum Format. The desire of organising petit, intimate and special themed events was upgraded. »First in Slovenia we plan to organise the Salon of Rieslings, which is aiming to gether both, Welsch and Rhein Rieslings, domestic and international winemakers, professional public and winelovers.
