Where: Ljubljana; e-Vino BAR

When: 3. June, 2010

What: Decanter award-winning wine tasting

Marof way of winemaking is »no winemaking«

My TOP 3 wines:

  1. Welschriesling (Laški rizling) “Bodonci” 2009 (this variety has excellent potential in Marof estate & I will pay big attention in the future how It will be developed )
  2. BREG Sauvignon 2008 (even it was 5 months in old oak barrels its still gentle elder tree smell & its one of my favourites Slovenian Sauvignon Blanc )
  3. CRU Chardonnay 2007 (probably at the moment the best Chardonnay in Slovenia)

Marof winery, with its Regional trophy and the total of nine medals, became the most successful Slovenian winery at the Decanter 2010 wine competition in London. All wines we tasted that day were simply the best.
