12,352 Samples of Wine, 1,885 of the World's Producers from 40 Countries

This year's biggest international wine competition AWC Vienna was already eleventh in a row. The AWC Vienna estimated 12,352 samples of wine, 1,885 of the world's producers from 40 countries.

The last Sunday in October AWC Vienna hosted the AWC Vienna Wine Gala Night in the City Hall (Rathaus) where all the winners of the medals were invited to receive the highest awards - trophies in certain categories of evaluations. Wineries which reached the finals in each category also presented these wines. For the first time in the history at AWC Vienna the Top Rated Slovenian Wine Cellar Ptujska klet (Ptuj Wine Cellar) - Pullus won three stars of quality. This is a remarkable achievement and only 30 out of 1885 wineries can be proud of such result. Pullus Riesling straw 2009 won the 3rd place in the category of reserve / prädikatswein.

At the Gala Night in the Festival Hall of Vienna's most prominent neo-gothic building mainly German-speaking guests have had the opportunity to enjoy the flavours of triumphal wines. We visited the event for the second time (2011) and we warmly recommend you to do the same, if you have a chance.
