International festival The Days of Poetry and Wine has taken the place for the 19th time in history. During the last week of August Ptuj has hosted 65 different events, 25 Poetry readings by 28 Poets from 16 countries read in 14 different languages. The Wine Altar gone bigger and presented 18 Wineries (last year 12), mainly from Štajerska Slovenia (Ptuj Wine Cellar, Verus, P&F Jeruzalem Ormož, Joannes Protner House, Gaube, Steyer, Kraner-Plateis, Conrad Fuerst & Soehne, Turčan, Hlebec, Doppler, SiSi, M-simply good wines, Gjerkeš in Dveri – Pax). Primorska has been represented by Ščurek Wines from Goriška Brda, STeraS Winery from Slovenian Istria and Vipava Valley's biodynamic Guerila.

3 Wicked Tastings took place during the festival too. First, guests took part in a guided walk through the »streets under the streets«, in Ptuj Wine Cellar discovering the Cellar Wisdoms. Boštjan Protner has presented his Reislings of various vintages and explained why this wine is so demanding and whimsical that could deserve a royal title. The last, already 30th Wicked Tasting, was a small jubilee and for this reason we have decided to travel back in time, to the wild Caucasus where it all began 8,000 years ago. Primož Štajer pamper the Winelovers with Georgian wines and traditional dish, never missing at the festive table, Khachapuri.
