Days of Poetry and Wine Festival is for sure one of the most sensual event I have ever been. The evenings - Grand Poetry Reading - were devoted to poets and their verse read in a multitude of world languages … The wine was served at the wine altar – a special installation by designer Stanka Vauda Benčevič, which was employed as a bridge between wine and wine lovers. Indulging in a relaxing atmosphere and in the company of wine tasters, wine lovers had the opportunity to learn more about individual wines, winemaking and their special characteristics. This year’s novelty was marked by three wicked tastings – Huda pokušnja! during the first three days of festival in pleasant and intimate locales, with a pronounced role of vintners (1. Ptujska klet, 2. Steyer and 3. Aci Urbajs) and poetry as an accompaniment to the events. Moderator of those events was wine publicist Jože Rozman.
Another novelty was Festival of Rieslings – Renski (Rhein) and Laški (Welschriesling) made by Ptujska klet – Pullus. From fresh to archive wines up to 1950 vintage. The vertical wine tasting caused some pleasant feelings. You just need to look at the bottle and to see amber colour of wine. With eyes closed enjoy the beauties of archive wines.
