Where: Manzioli Palace, Izola, Slovenia
When: 28 March 2015
What: 2nd Refuscus Mundi 2015 - Svet refoška – The World of Refosco
“Refošk – Refosco was and still is very important grape variety in this part of Europe – in Istria. Refosco from Izola – Slovenia was wine which was famous and sold in The Republic of Venice. It has a long tradition of production. And in the best vintages it was named Renero Di Izola. It has up to 16% alcohol, very concentrated. We love this grape and it is a part of our heritage,” tells me Uroš Rojac, Istrian Winemaker. As you reader already noticed the event was dedicated to Refosco; in Manzioli Palace there were represented more than 40 wineries, from Istria (refosco) and Carst (teran – terrano); From Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. The Symposium and workshops were about wine styles, vintages, scientific knowledge about it for example »how to improve tannins quality through different viticultural practice,« etc.
