Is Wine Tourism Big Deal in Croatia?

Esplanade Zagreb Hotel is home for the Wine Festival for 12 years already. At the end of the November all wine world from Croatia is here ready to be tasted. Ivan Dropuljić, the director and founder remembered how it was when he started active in wine business 25 years ago. It was small and it was ready to be developed.

Tourism is in Croatia big deal, but wine tourism is not as it should be developed. That kind of events is perfect to be discovered by winelovers from abroad too. I do hope that I will see in next festivals more foreign visitors. I tasted such a great wines from all wine regions. Croatia has a lot of indigenous grape varieties and different terroir and this all together give interesting results. Another discovers for me were gentle sparkling wines from Istria.

    • Blanc de Blanc brut nature, Misal, Istria, Croatia

    • Kontempo Blanc de Blanc zero dose, 2014, Domaine Koquelicot, Istria, Croatia

    • Sauvignon 2016, dry, 12.5%, Organic Wine, Kalazić Wines, Podunavlje, Croatia
