After 7 years VinDel become very popular wine event (especially for wine). In one day guests can enjoy tasting wines from all wine regions in Slovenia. We could say in VinDel you can discover a map of Slovenian wines. There were also some wines from abroad, from Croatia, Austria and Hungary. Every year I get to know some new (old) wineries which I didn’t taste before and of course I meet a lot of winelovers and winemakers who I know for several years. In general wines were very good, drinkable from fresh to mature. Almost no mistakes in wine (I noticed just a few samples), all that makes me really happy.

I visited also 2 workshops: “Malvasia Tour Istria” and “Images of Welschriesling«. The titles for both were interesting but speakers should stick more to the point of titles. Wines that were served were super, but at the first workshop we were not told more about »tour« and in the Welschriesling it was too many samples – 14! And too much talking so I forgot at the end what was the topic.

My TOP

    • Teran PTP 2013, dry, 12%, Vinarstvo Gec, Kras Wine District, Primorska Wine Region, Slovenia. (you will not find this lovely teran in consortium KARST growers of Teran)

    • Malvazija 2013, dry, 13.5%, STeraS, Slovenska Istra Wine District, Primorska Wine Region, Slovenia (Tilen’s malvasia has herbal spicy touch)

    • Popetris red 2011, dry, 13%, Marcel in Vladimir Ražman, Slovenska Istra Wine District, Primorska Wine Region, Slovenia (animalic)

    • Sontia Brut nature, 13.5%, Ducal, Štajerska Slovenija Wine District, Podravje Wine Region, Slovenia (special, hard to describe)

    • Oskar Brut nature (Šipon 80%!, Chardonnay 20%), 13%, Vina Oskar, Štajerska Slovenija Wine District, Podravje Wine Region, Slovenia (ripe juicy; calls for more)
