Where: Ljubljana Castle, Ljubljana, Slovenia
When: 30. november 2013
What: Label Grand Karakterre 2 - Central and Eastern Europe's Leading Organic and Biodynamic Wine Festival
Festival took place in a medieval Ljubljana castle. It featured wines by around 80 winemakers with organic or biodynamic orientation from Austria, Croatia, France, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia. Wines of the whole spectrum, white, macerated white, rosé, red and sparkling from Loire, Rhone region of Sud-Ouest, Douro, Friuli, Trentino, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Abruzzo, Tuscany, Styria, Villanyja, Liguria Vipava Valley, Goriška Brda, Karst, Maribor, Istria, Slavonia, Dalmatia and Moslavina, were available for the tastings. Undoubtedly big specialized event which has attracted a lot of winelovers. I have seen also a lot of foreign tourists too. Final impression: very good organized; winemakers were professional to the guests. Wines? Very different quality. Some very tasty with no mistakes and diseases, some unfortunately with mistakes. We all know that nature friendly is the future, but Organic and Biodynamic wines must not have the disease and defects. The next day the same festival was organized also in Croatian capital Zagreb.
