What: 12th Charity auction of barrique barrels
The biggest charity event of Vinakoper wine cellar is every year’s auction of selected barrels barriques. 12 of them, vintage 2009 & 2010 were represented to the potential customers. All of them - Malvazija (2 barrels), Merlot (2 barrels), barrels of Refosco, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon (4 barrels) find new owners. The starting price for a litre of wine in 225-liter barrique barrel, reaching 10 till 12 EUR, depending on the variety, but auctioneers may bid price of at least 1 EUR. This year’s amount of donation from Vinakoper to General Hospital in Izola is 10.000 EUR.
p.s. I attend this event for the first time & I have to admit, it was great to taste all 12 samples.
