This year's event DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS 2025 was dedicated to the memory of Angela Muir, MW, who passed away this year. Her mark on the Slovenian wine scene has left a great mark. In 2000, at the invitation of the Wine Society of Slovenia, she advised three leading wineries in Slovenia. We believe that she was instrumental in establishing a change in style, quality of wines and establishing international competitiveness. Honor to her!

At the salon, we tasted more than a hundred wines which, according to the organizers were awarded as the organizers say at the most important and largest wine evaluation in the world, DWWA. More than 35 winemakers from Slovenia, Serbia and also Argentina were presented, which is a novelty this year. All Slovenian wines with a gold medal, best in show, quite a few wines with a platinum medal, as well as a bunch of excellent sparkling wines and increasingly better and better red wines.

"This is a top wine event that shows very well what is happening on the Slovenian wine scene, who the new talents are, what the new tastes and new styles of wines are, and at the same time it also represents the pulse of the wider region," announces the salon organizer Robert Gorjak, one of the leading Slovenian wine professionals. The salon is attended by numerous international evaluators. Over the years, more than 2,400 wine lovers have attended it.
